ABOUT US
Pocatello Christian Outreach Center
Welcome to Pocatello Christian Outreach Center a church of new beginnings! We are a non-denominational church located in the Pocatello/Chubbuck area in Idaho. We put an emphasis on the Word of God and take time each week to worship God freely. We believe that Jesus offers each person unconditional love, acceptance and forgiveness. PCOC is a safe, friendly place where you can grow in your faith, build strong relationships, and learn to live the good life God has made available for you.
Use the links on this page to learn more about who we are and see if this might be a church that you can call home.
We invite you to join one of our services, or come to one of many events held throughout the week.
Vision & Mission
Statement of Faith
- We believe in one God. Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, Creator of all things.
- We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ, the first begotten Son of God, was conceived of the Holy Spirit, was born of the Virgin Mary, was crucified and died, was buried and resurrected, ascended into heaven, is now seated at the right hand of God the Father, and is both true God and true man.
- We believe the Bible in its entirety to be the inspired Word of God and the infallible rule of faith and conduct.
- We believe in the resurrection of the dead, the eternal happiness of the saved, and the eternal punishment of the lost.
- We believe in personal salvation of believers through the shed blood of Jesus Christ.
- We believe in sanctification through the Word of God and by the Holy Spirit, and we believe in personal holiness, purity of heart, and life.
- We believe in divine healing through faith in the Name of Jesus Christ, and we believe that healing is included in the Redemption.
- We believe in water baptism, in the Baptism of the Holy Spirit as distinct from the New Birth, in speaking with tongues as the Spirit of God gives utterance (Acts 2:4), in the gifts of the Spirit, and in the evidence of the fruit of the Spirit. We believe that all of these are available to believers.
- We believe in the Christian’s hope: the soon-coming, personal return of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Lawrence & Shawna Chapman

Lawrence & Shawna, high school sweethearts, have been married for 21 years and lived in Central Texas their whole lives. In 2011 they were blessed with their son Trevor. It has been on their heart that there was change coming to get ready. God said sell your house and be ready to move with me in the summer of 2015. In 2017 the house was sold and God said to move to Pocatello, Idaho. God has been faithful in every step. God is a good good father and wonderful provider. They have spent the last 16 years working in children’s ministry. They have been children’s Pastors, directors of a children’s class, and Lawrence has lead and started a Royal Rangers program for boys. Lawrence has served on a church board as a deacon during; a building project. He has enjoyed going on mission trips to Mexico. Lawrence received an Associate Degree in Theology at Christ International Bible College which is an affiliate of Mark Hankins Ministries. Shawna has a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies and a Master’s degree in Reading. She has been a teacher since 2006. Children are where their hearts are. They are passionate about 1. Raising whole godly children so we don’t have to fix them as broken adults, 2. Helping children recognize their gifts and talents in order to develop them. 3. Showing children how to be a part of and serve in the local church. Proverbs 22:6 Says to train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it. They have attended BCOC since 2006 where they meet Doug and Theresa Smith while working on installing playground equipment for the children at BCOC. It is a great honor for Lawrence & Shawna to have the support of Pastors Scott & Maureen, Pastors Tony & Mary, and Pastor Joan and to co-pastor PCOC with their best friends. God is GOOD all the time. He is faithful. The Chapman family also enjoys outdoor activities such as hiking, Nordic skiing, camping, fishing, hunting, and riding motorcycles with the Chariots of Light.
