Leadership

In the early 2000's, Pastors Doug and Theresa Smith experienced a life-changing encounter with Jesus that transformed their lives completely. Fully surrendering to God, they left behind their secular lifestyle to embrace a life of faith, sanctification, and service to the Lord.

In 2018, Doug and Theresa were sent out from Bastrop Christian Outreach Center (BCOC) in Bastrop, Texas, under the Lord’s instruction, to plant a church in Pocatello, Idaho.

Pastors Doug and Theresa Smith

With a passion for preaching the gospel and ministering to others, they are dedicated to helping people encounter the transformative power of Jesus. Known for their practical, down-to-earth approach to ministry, Pastors Doug and Theresa live by the Word of God and teach others how to apply it in their daily lives. Their greatest joy is seeing people thrive in Jesus—witnessing families restored, healings received, and purpose discovered. To them, these are the true rewards of preaching the gospel. With hearts full of love and a deep desire to see everyone walk in victory through faith, they are committed to guiding and equipping believers to live out God’s purpose for their lives.

  • What Testimonies Will We Share Next?
As we look back on the past 8 years and celebrate all that God has done in and through this church family, we are filled with gratitude. His faithfulness has been evident in so many ways, and we can’t wait to see what’s next. Here are just a few of the incredible testimonies we’ve witnessed: Salvations: Close to a thousand people have given their lives to Jesus, experiencing the miracle of salvation. Restored Families: God has brought healing to marriages, restored relationships, and transformed families. Healing and Deliverance: Many have been physically healed, set free from emotional pain, and delivered from spiritual struggles. Living Victorious: We’ve seen individuals embrace their identity in Christ and walk in the fullness of His victory every day. Community Outreach: During the challenges of COVID, we came together to distribute over 160,000 pounds of food to those in need, sharing God’s love and provision in a time of uncertainty. As we celebrate what God has already done, we can’t help but look forward to all that He has in store. We’ve received fresh vision for the future—one that brings even more opportunities to spread His love throughout Southeast Idaho. We believe we are entering a season of growth—one that will transform lives and strengthen our community. With faith in God’s provision, we’re ready to embrace this new chapter, trusting He will lead the way. The testimonies we’ve already witnessed are just the beginning, and we eagerly anticipate the new ones to come in the months and years ahead.
  • I’d Love to Be a Blessing. How Can I Sow Into What God is Doing?
We are so grateful for the many family members and ministry partners who have reached out locally and from around the world, asking how they can be part of what God is doing here! As we enter a new season, we invite you to partner with us in advancing the Kingdom in Southeast Idaho. We need to relocate by May 31, 2025, and your support—whether through prayer, giving, or both—will help make this happen. Ways to Sow: Online: Give at Church Center Giving, designating "Church Building-Relocation." Text: Any amount to 84321. In Person: During services or office hours. Mail: P.O. Box 3053, Pocatello, Idaho 83206. We know that God is more than capable of making this happen on His own, but if PCOC has been a blessing to you and you feel led to partner with us in this season, we would be honored by your support. Together, we trust God to provide and guide us toward the future He has planned! Thank you for being in agreement with us.
  • What Does This Move Look Like for Us?
This move looks like growth for the Church and Community! For the past 8 years, we’ve been praying for prosperity for the people of Pocatello, Chubbuck, and the surrounding areas—physically, spiritually, mentally, emotionally, and financially. As we see our community prosper, we’re excited for the church to experience the same growth in faith. The exciting news? Pine Ridge Mall is transforming to bring in more retail options, which means it’s time for PCOC to relocate by May 31st. As we witness the community prospering, we’re reminded that the church, too, has the opportunity to prosper in our faith, trusting that God is doing something greater in this season. This move is more than just a change of address—it’s a divine opportunity for growth. We are trusting that God is who He says He is—Jehovah Jireh, our provider and El Shaddai, our supply that never runs dry. He will provide! This season marks the beginning of a new chapter of trust, faith, and expansion for the body of Christ, and we believe that God is preparing to do even greater things through us.
  • How Can You Pray for Us?
We believe that God uses His people to accomplish His purposes, and right now, we’re inviting you to partner with us as we step into this new season. Prayer is a vital part of this journey, and we’re calling on all our prayer warriors to stand with us. We need wisdom and clarity to navigate this transition, and we ask you to agree with us in prayer for guidance, unity, and protection from any distractions or obstacles that might try to derail the incredible work God is doing through PCOC. Your prayers are vital, and we’re so grateful for your partnership in lifting us up.
